Electrics isolation, potting and encapsulation
The most important thing with potting or encapsulating of electronics is the resistence or electric conductivity. The encapsulation has to protect the fragile electronics from weather (rain, ice) and shock. The material should protect against short circuits but and not cause to much heat built up. These materials are used for print boards, solar cells and LED and matrix boards.
